Organisation
The Centre for German, Croatian, European and Comparative Law (Inter-University Centre Split/Berlin) was founded on the basis of a partnership agreement concluded between the Free University of Berlin (Institute for East European Studies) and the University of Split, Croatia (Law Faculty) in early 2000.
In 2008, the law faculties of the University of Belgrade, of the University Union Belgrade and the University of Sarajevo have been included into the academic co-operation of the Inter-University Centre.
The Director of the Inter-University Centre is Prof. Dr. Dr. h. c. Herwig Roggemann, Free University of Berlin. The Vice Director on the Croatian side is the respective Dean of the Law Faculty, Split.
The Centre, its staff, participants and scholars have an office and work room at their disposal at the Institute for East European Studies at the Free University Berlin and an office and work room at the Law Faculty of the University of Split.
The reference library of the Inter-University Centre is located in the Centre's work room in Split. A selection of books is also available in the Berlin work room.
The Centre collaborates with public and private institutions, commercial enterprises, academic and cultural organisations and interested persons in Germany, Croatia and other countries.
